April Favourites

Hello Lovelies!!!

Sorry I've been gone all week it's been a crazy one and that's no excuse so because of that I'm going to try and write a couple of times this weekend for all of you.

So I've never thought about all the products that I love, don't love, the ones that are alright and the ones that are a complete waste of time and money.

That said I thought that I would do something like that for you since I didn't want to do another review on a product right away and bore you to...tears?

Ok lets start with MUSTS for this month shall we!

I was recently at the Superstore and of course I ALWAYS end up in the cosmetics and beauty isle, but this time however I was with my two little boys...let me tell you how hilarious it is when your 7 year old is saying "Look Mamma here's Covergirl get something and lets get out of here!" ha ha ha ya I know right!

I was pleasantly shocked when I stumbled upon Milani Cosmetics in an aisle and when I mean pleasantly I flipped out!

I came across their Milani Easybrow and bought it in Taupe.

I absolutely can't tell you how amazing this brow pencil is. It has a spoolie on one side and a no sharpen cream pencil on the other. It glides amazingly and the colour is perfect for me.

The spoolie is the perfect length to brush your eyebrows with. Honestly I highly highly recommend this product, I have not found a better brow pencil in a long time.

Moving on, the second product is the Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse that I bought in Natural Beige.

Now let me first say that it's a can and the foundation comes out like a mousse like substance. If you're like me and you love that airbrush finish but with a great amount of coverage, than this is the product for you.

It's light on your face and very buildable. It does give you a little bit of the dewy finish so it may not be the best for you if you have oily skin unless you use a powder on top of it.

This product for me is a must have, especially in the summer when you don't want that heavy feeling on your face and definitely don't want to look like you have any makeup on.

Speaking of powder the next product is from Rimmel London and it's the Stay Matte powder that I purchased in Sandstorm.

This is a great powder to have. It's very matte and totally removes that shine off of your face that a lot of us don't like. It's not a heavy powder at all and it's in a great slim case.

My personal opinion for the packaging however is that I wish it was an actual twist off cap or it clipped together. It's really poor packaging because you can just pull off the lid and it's open.

Next on my list of favourites of the month is also from Rimmel London, however this time it's the Match Perfection Concealer that I bought in Ivory.

This let me tell you not only is a concealer but it's a GREAT highlighter. The brush on the end allows for a clean easy way of applying it to your face, you just squeeze the plastic tube.

Well done Rimmel this is my new Concealer / Highlighter it's magic and deserves a high 5.

Eye Primers. To me this has always been a tricky one because unfortunately I have oily eye lids. I've been using for a while now Eye Primer from BH Cosmetics.

This was a pretty good buy. It's creamy and goes on flat with no oily residue. Apply your powder on top of it and it will definitely help your eye shadow last all day.

If you're like me and have really oily eye lids then you may or may not like this product as I find that there are times where it does crease and my lids feel oily.

Another really great product from BH Cosmetics is their Nude Palette.

This palette is unreal. The shadows are very nicely pigmented, it comes with a highlighter, two lip glosses and two different blushes.

This palette is perfect for so many different looks from the cute like pinks to darkening it up in the evening to give you that sultry pinky, violet smokey eye.

This is a definite recommend from me. I think these colours would look good on so many different types of eye colours and has a lot of versatility.

This other product from Milani has been my favourite for a little while now. It's the Lipstick in the colour Sangria.

This lipstick is so creamy and smooth it doesn't dry up and leave your lips crusty as some dark colours can do.

The pigment in this lipstick is amazing and the smell OMG it's yummy. You know how you buy a lipstick and you bring it home and it just smells like...grossness? Well this my dears does NOT. This smells like heaven with candy in it.

The packaging is super cute and sleek and did I mention the colour STAYS ON! Two very big thumbs up for me.

The last makeup product I have to tell you about is from L'Oreal Telescopic in the colour black.

I have always had issues with mascara. They don't make my eyelashes long enough, they don't volumize them, they don't leave my lashes strong all day.

Well let me tell you if that's what you're looking for then this is definitely the mascara for you. This mascara lengthens, adds volume, plus it leaves your lashes strong and crispy all day.

I have never been more compliamented on how amazing my eyelashes look than when I started using this mascara. The brush is plastic and skinny so if you don't like those and you love those big amazing brushes then this is NOT the mascara for you.

This is definitely my go to mascara now and I wish I had found it sooner.

Last but not least is one of my most favourite items that I have been using for years now. This product is not makeup BUT it is for nails.

From Sally Hansen it's the Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat.

Ladies I have told dozens of people about this product now, and I was as skeptical as you are. I'm an O.P.I girl always have been, but when I tried this for the first time it completely changed me.

This top coat not only dries your nails 10 times faster than most top coats but wait for it....you nail polish lasts a WEEK (on most occasions when your hands aren't always submerged in water, than there is no top coat ever that will slow the chipping process)

I can now do my nails an hour before bed and not worry that I'll wake up with sheet marks on them. I don't have to stress about what colour i'm going to put on two days later because my nails look like a 16 year old girl has been picking at them.

Yes this will change your life, just as it has mine. Try this out you wont be sorry.

These are my May Favourites and I would love to hear what yours are. Maybe there is a product that you think I would like or is better than one of the ones that I've talked about here.

Let me know!

Orange is NOT the New Black

Ok who hasn't wanted to have a nice glowing complexion on their legs in 1 minute rather than it taking time and time again in the sun.

A while back I was going to a wedding and when I tried on my short black dress, BAM!!! I had these white gray legs that blended in with the wall ha ha ha....ya I know pathetic!

Well I was desperate for these legs to change colour so that I wouldn't look so ridiculous in this gorgeous dress. I needed something and I needed it NOW.

I headed over to Walmart and was looking in the beauty section for something that was reasonable in price and I found a product by Sally Hansen called Airbrush Legs

At the time when I was there I only found the spray bottle so I figured what the heck. When I got home right away I wanted to try this product out.

Well let me tell you something ladies, don't be hasty when applying a self tanner, or anything that will enhance the colour of your skin tone.

I sprayed it on and rubbed it around covering my whole leg when I realized HOLY WOW MY LEG'S ORANGE!!!

I figured ok benefit of the doubt keep on going it's bound to get better right? WRONG!

Well not only was I hasty in applying the spray and rubbing it around but I totally forgot to do three very very important things prior to applying a tanner.

I forgot to SHOWER, EXFOLIATE and MOISTURIZE! Oh No, what did I do...My leg was splotchy with parts that were tanned orange, some that were a nice tan colour and others that just weren't anything at all!!! What was I going to do the wedding was that NIGHT!

I hopped in the shower and prayed it would come off. I scrubbed and exfoliated and scrubbed some more until my skin was soooo smooth it was actually itchy! (Ya you know what I'm talking about, right after you exfoliate your dry skin and you come out to dry off and you get that itch!)

Well needless to say I was in luck! I looked down and the colour wasn't back to normal but it was light enough that I could try and do it all over again. "This time I was going to do it right" I said

These are the steps I used...I moisturized my legs, feet and knees thoroughly until I knew that my dry skin was all gone.

I sprayed the Airbrush Legs by Sally Hansen on and rubbed it in just like I was applying a second layer of moisturizer.

Of course I did the other leg this time and I just kept on praying that I wouldn't turn into an orange by the end of all of this.

I swear all this to look good in a dress!! How ridiculous!!!

Needless to say that I was able to wait until it dried and looked at myself in the mirror with my dress on and their they were, the most gorgeous coloured legs I'd seen since....well probably the last vacation I'd been on when I was able to bake in the sun...Ahhh those were the days.

Now thankfully the product does wash off so I didn't have these Ronald McDonald hands with the rest of my body my regular colour (white!) ha ha ha

So what do I think about this Sally Hansen Airbrush Leg??!!

I'll give it an average Thumps Up! Nothing super special but works pretty good.

I mean for something that is not going to stay on for longer than one shower, and at about $12.00 how do you go wrong?

Ok Bombshells I know you like having that glowing skin that just makes you look healthy and happy. So why not try it?

What do you think about self tanners?

Holy Brushes!!

Let me start by saying NO I DID NOT JUST PURCHASE THESE NOW I PROMISE!!! (boyfriend...I'm talking to you!)

So now that that is taken care of on to my review ....

In the past year or a little longer I would say, I've been really getting involved with beauty products especially makeup. I've always dabbled in it and loved it but never tried to do more with it, until recently.

I've been venturing out of my comfort zone and trying new products of makeup, cleansers, beauty products, accessories and of course tools!!!

So today's review is on a brand I just recently discovered by the name of Morphe Brushes. I was on YouTube one night watching one of my beauty Guru's that I subscribe to and she had mentioned a company by the name of Morphe Brushes and how she found them very comparable to M.A.C.

I did my research (of course!) and found out that the quality of their brushes were very very good but at lower end pricing. They have so many different types too!!

From synthetic, Natural and Vegan too….!!! I read reviews and realized I wanted to try them out and see what I thought.

I bought the 18 Vegan Brush Set and it comes with a pleather case that folds and clips closed.

I added a few other brushes that I wanted that didn't come with the set. I bought the C460 Flat Contour, C404 Small Duo Foundation, C01 Foundation Blender, C417 Chubby Shadow, SS027 Deluxe Blending Crease and the IB124 Italian Badger Kabuki.

Phewww that was a mouth full right?!! So here you'll see the full set and the extras….now while I was taking these pictures I totally forgot about the Kabuki so I don't have a picture of it.

Ok so when they arrived they smelled like really potent glue and plastic. The first thing I did was open and air it out of course! But the number one priority was to clean them.

Get this....I don't remember not even one hair coming out of any of the eye brushes and about one or two came out of one of the face brushes...Great right!!!?

After they air dried on their sides for about 2 days they were good to start using.

Right away I noticed that the face brushes were all very soft and slightly dense not much at all. I personally would have loved for the set to come with at least one really great foundation application brush, more dense for flawless liquid foundation application, but it didn't so that's why I purchased one separately.

There is however a pointed foundation brush that came with the set that was the perfect density for all the corners of the face and under the eye application.

The eye brush...well what can I say other than GREAT! I love the quality and the feel and how they just glide around your face with the perfect softness and density all at the same time.

I swear if I didn't know any better I would have thought that there was a M.A.C 217 or a 239 that snuck it's way in the midst of these brushes as I was using them.

Now the separate brushes that I purchased were amazing add-ons and I totally recommend them 100%. The Flat Contour brush is something that I think every makeup artist (or anyone that enjoys doing their makeup) should own. It really applies that contour colour with a straight tight edge that you want right before you blend it all in. The Chubby Shadow brush and the Deluxe Crease brush were both a NEED!!

The Deluxe crease is just the perfect size to get right into your crease and blend out all those harsh lines and the perfect texture and feel that you would want rubbing away on your eye. Honestly I don't know what I can say about the Chubby Shadow brush but BUY IT!

The Small Duo Foundation brush makes for a great beautiful flawless airbrush feel application for your liquid foundations. It stipples just the right amount to really give you that 'No makeup' look.

The Foundation Blender is ok. I mean it's NOT a Beautyblender, but it does the job. I personally wouldn't purchase it again if I had to just because I would prefer to buy the beautyblender.

Now lastly the Italian Badger Kabuki. It absolutely STINKS when you wash it for the first time. I had to wash it 2 times with kids shampoo because I couldn't handle he nasty wet animal smell. (That's what you get for real hair I guess!!) So once you make sure it's absolutely dry completely (and believe me you'll know) then you can use it. It's soft and really smooth application. I guess buy it if you can handle the initial smell.

Overall I'm going to have to say that I give Morphe Brushes the Vegan Set plus the add-ons two thumbs up!!!

Their great affordable and very good quality synthetic that you really want in makeup brushes.

So Bombshells....what are your thoughts on the quality of your makeup brushes??
